Friendly staff. Food was good, and servings were fair. On the expensive side for fast food. Lots of charm, appeals to locals and visitors. Recommended.

Came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon for lunch and left very satisfied! They have a little parking lot which can fill up quickly but patrons don't linger too long so the turnover is quick. Same goes for the tables. Service was very efficient and polite. Order and pay first when you arrive then seat yourself at one of the tables inside or in their outdoor patio which is covered but plenty sunny. They even have heaters mounted for chilly days. Tables are clean and they are quick to clean up the tables after they're vacated. Food was great! I was so pleasantly surprised by how good the bread bowl was. The bread was warm, toasted on the outside and soft in the middle. Just perfect. A little too much potato in it for my hubby's taste, but I didn't mind so much. Fish and chips were good. Fish was fresh. Batter was crisp on the outside but I didn't care for the bit of slimy batter that was adjacent to the fish. Tartar sauce was creamy with just a bit of tang. We had the clam strips too, which I thought were fine. Felt like I was mostly eating batter so it was my mistake to order it. It was nicely crispy. The fries (in both baskets) could've been more well done and crispy. They were quite soggy even though they were clearly fresh. Overall, really nice lunch. I can see why this place is popular and stays busy! Will likely come back for another visit!

Perfect fish and chips for me. Four generous pieces with nice crunchy beer batter on the firm clean tasting fish. It comes with plenty of crispy outside and soft inside fries, exactly how I personally like them. Don't come for the ambiance, the floor indoors is slanted and there's small tables with old chairs. The food is the star here. I'll return as often as I'm out here.

Saw good reviews about the boat house and stopped by here on our road trip down Highway1. They did not disappoint! Staff were attentive and ordering was fast. Their calamari and grilled oysters were the best! Who would have known grilling oysters with ketchup would taste divine? The crab cake sandwich was juicy and tasty. We had to order a small bowl of clam chowder because the reviewers recommended it and it was also good. If you are driving on Highway 1, please make sure to drop by. You will need good food to enjoy the wonderful view

The boat house was the perfect stop for a light lunch after a hike by the beach or coastal foraging! We stopped by on our way from fort ross coast since we saw a lot of people coming here when we drove by initially. There isn't too long of a wait but seating can be hard to find especially on weekends with nicer weather since the location is very small but that's just even more of a reason to order to go and have a nice meal while enjoying the beach views. Servers were all very nice, with quick service on top! Food was solid and tasted fresh, just the classic chili dog and fish n chips.

Best fish!!!! Fried perfectly, ight and crispy. Lightly salted. Was not oily at all. Great amount of fish. Great Tartar sauce. I would come here again! Serve was quick, plenty of seating. Parking is slightly limited, there is a parking lot that probably has about 10 spots or so.

Had lunch here on the summer solstice after a lovely morning at the beach. The vibes are immaculate. Well not really, the place itself is kind of janky, doesn't look like anything has been repaired there for the last 20 years. But they have an outdoor dining area and when you're that close to the ocean, I guess you don't have to try at much else. The service was fast and friendly, the food was deep fried. Kind of hard to go wrong. It's definitely price gouge-y though. Super simple and cheap food, but all marked up because of where you are. To their credit though, they could have price gouged even more and they didn't, so at least there's that. I'd go back, but I'd probably try to see if someone else wanted to pay for me.

Locals and savy tourists flock to The Boat House! They cook up the best clam chowder, fish and chips, and BBQ oysters (and so much more...menu attached) for over 30 years. You are reading that correctly. Thirty big ones! Before all the other restaurants even thought about opening, Boat House take out business alone kept them thriving. For me, a trip to Bodega Bay is not complete without stopping for something delicious at the Boat House. Do not let the humble appearance of this restaurant deceive you. Nothing has changed in all the years I have been going. The charming sea themed interior is filled with tables and chairs. The outside patio is welcom ing and cozy, especially when the weather is beautiful. The two restrooms inside the restaurant are always sparkling clean. That does not even include all the photos of baseball and other sports photos of the kids in the community supported by this family owned restaurant. Do not miss a chance to eat here. The locals know best! Thank you, Rick and Sophia Powers, for awesome food and customer service! And keeping your prices reasonable! (Your long-time employees are priceless!)

My husband and I stopped by the Boat House in Bodega Bay, when we first moved to the area. We have been going there ever since. I don't know why I waited to write a review but I'm glad I did wait because- the food and service has been consistent. It's a small family business, casual, and cozy. The service is great. The fish and chips are great. It is one of our favorite place to get Fish, Prawns & Chips. Pretty big portions, huge prawns. Not greasy. They offer a taste sensation we never get tired of. Delicious! They have limited indoor and outdoor seating. The parking lot is small but we have always found a spot to park. While there, you can arrange Private Boat Charters and Fishing Excursions. Check it out, you'll be glad you did.
